Hoshizora Miyuki is the leader of the Cures in Smile Precure!. She is a bright, energetic girl who loves fairytales. Although she is a scatterbrain and gets flustered easily, she has the determination to get what she wants and is seldom unhappy. Whenever she is happy, she is fond of saying "Ultra happy!". At the start of the series, she is a newly-transferred student at Nanairogaoka Middle School.
Miyuki's Pretty Cure alter ego is Cure Happy (キュアハッピー Kyua Happī). She controls the power of the Holy light.
Personality
Miyuki is a bright and energetic girl who loves fairytales. She is
always happy and optimistic, making her seem very naive. Simple things
such as eating cake can make her happy, and she is fond of using the
phrase "Ultra happy!" to show her joy. In contrast, when things do not
go her way, she shows her disappointment by saying "Ha~ppu~ppu".
She is also extremely unreserved, openly asking Akane and Yayoi
to become Pretty Cure with her, and hugging and jumping on Akane/Cure
Sunny despite knowing her for only a day. She often openly proclaims her
love for her friends, announcing that she really likes Reika in Episode 5 and Candy in Episode 6.
Miyuki likes to play-pretend and was thus extremely excited to
become a Pretty Cure, proclaiming her Cure costume as "cute" and that
being a Cure is like "being a superhero on TV". Despite this, she has little confidence in her own powers as Pretty Cure at first, calling the Akanbe
monsters "frightening" and preferring to run away instead of fight.
However, she gains confidence in her abilities over time, and though she
does not come off as a very reliable leader, her enthusiasm often helps
her to lead the other Cures in battle.
Miyuki often gets overexcited over small things and ends up
hurting herself in the process. In one instance, she got so excited when
she learnt that there were 5 Cures in total that she fell backwards and
hit her head.
Another time, she was so amazed at all the fairytales in the Magical
Library that she tripped over a book and fell flat on her face. She is shown to be bad at sports, prone to catching balls with her face
and falling flat on the ground. A running gag in the series is how
Miyuki always gets hit in the face by random objects. Thus far, she has
been hit by Candy, a volleyball, a soccer ball, Pop's storybook and the
"turning ti~ny" mallet. This clumsiness extends to her Cure form as
well, when she failed to aim her finishing attack at an Akanbe and hence
missed it totally.
As she loves fairytales, Miyuki's favorite pastime is reading
storybooks. During her self-introduction in class, she explained that
she loves reading fairytales because the happy endings always leave a
warm and happy feeling inside her heart, which she summarizes as a
feeling of being "ultra happy!". The most important thing to Miyuki is
to be happy and to smile. She hates seeing others cry and does her best
to cheer them up. In Episode 2, despite being defeated by an Akanbe, she
insisted on smiling, saying that she won't cry or "happiness will be
gone".
Due to her love of reading, she seems to know most of her fairytales well. The first time she faced up against Wolfurun,
she hid behind a brick wall, naively telling him that à la The Three
Little Pigs story, he would not be able to get her. However, her
strategy failed when Wolfurun created an Akanbe out of the brick house.
History
First Day of School and making Friends
Miyuki transferred schools but was late to her school. But noticing a nice day, she believes she might encounter something ultra happy. While making her way to class at her new school, Miyuki runs into Candy, making her the first Cure to encounter the fairy. But as in "runs" into Candy, she met Candy when she literally crashes into Miyuki after appearing out of a flying story book as a way to travel to Earth from Märchenland. She gotten excited of meeting a fairy, Candy, like from her picture books. Candy then remembers she must find the Pretty Cures and left. Miyuki wondered where she is and got sad when she thought it was a dream, but when she saw the book Candy had, she was got happy when it wasn't a dream but remembers that she has to go to school also and took the book that Candy left. In the first day of school in class, she got nervous to do a self-introduction to the class, so the energetic Akane volenteered herself to do the introduction for Miyuki since she herself was a transfer student. She joked around until Nao and Reika interuppted her saying that she's putting Miyuki in a tight spot and that she should do her own. She introduced Miyuki to Reika and Nao and they got shocked of what Akane told her about them. Then Akane introduced herself to Miyuki and she transferred also from Osaka. When she gone to her seat, Yayoi in the front wanted to let Miyuki know that Akane give her confidence. Akane heard this and introduced Miyuki to the Yayoi and said that she's a crybaby, making Yayoi cry again. Miyuki was now happy and self-introduced herself. The class then clapped for her. The teacher then showed her seat that she is behind Akane. When the class was about to start, she looked out the window and saw Candy jumping from building to building. Miyuki yelled out and Akane asked that what was wrong and Miyuki told her that she saw Candy but she was gone.Becoming Cure Happy
After school, Miyuki then looked around the school and went to the
Library. Suddenly a light appeared behind a book. When she tried to find
the Light and accidentally activated the code to the Magical Library
and then the shelve suddenly turned into a portal and sucked Miyuki in.
She found herself in Library and then a book shelf had a light showing
Candy trying to find the Precures. Miyuki tried to get to her and then
activated the code again and now in the real world where she saw Candy
and caught. Candy was scared and told her that Wolf is in the Sky. When
Miyuki looked up, she saw him. Suddenly, the sky turned different and
the people around her got weak emiting Bad Energy except Miyuki because
of her happiness. Then Wolfurun saw Candy and came over her to eat her.
Miyuki protests and refuse to give her saying that she wants to protect
it. Then Wolfurun decided to eat Candy and Miyuki chased them. Wolfrun
just about to kill her until a beam of light came and the Smile Pact
appeared. Candy finally found her 1st Precure and told Miyuki what to
do. She doesn't know what's going on but will try and so she transformed
into Cure Happy for the first time. She was stunned of becoming a
Precure and happy because what she's wearing is cute. When she had to
fight Wolfurun, she got scared and tried to run away from him and again
Wolfrun chasing her. She had an idea and she and Candy hide behind a
brick wall so Wolfurun couldn't get her like the story, "The 3 Little
Pigs". Wolfrun laughed at this idea and turned the wall into an Akanbe,
scaring Cure Happy even more. She tried to run away and then
accidentley jumped. When she saw this, she got scared because of the
heights and asked Candy how to get down. The Akanbe jumped too at Happy
and Happy unexpectedly shoved him to the ground. When she got to the
ground, Candy tells her to use Happy Shower, Happy was relieved and try
out the power, she stopped and tried the the new power, but it didn't
work. She tried a dozen of times but nothing and ran away again. But she
tells herself that if she runs away from the monster, happiness runs
away. So she won't run away. Suddenly the smile pact glowed and Candy
said to put more spirit into it. Happy started it and then the Smile
Pact gave Cure Happy power and she used it to make Happy Shower and
blast it at the Akanbe, purifying it and fades away until all that's
left is the 1st Cure Decor,
and dropped to Happy's Hands. Wolfurun fled and then the sky turned
back to normal and the people are strong again. Miyuki was happy that
the people are fine. Candy said to be a Precure, find the other Precures
and collect the Decors to revive the Queen of Märchenland. Miyuki
promises to help her collect and revive the Queen.
Gathering the Other Cures and the Cure Decors
In Episode 2, she starts finding the Precures and her canditates were
Akane, Yayoi, Nao, and Reika and helped them transform into Cure Sunny, Cure Peace, Cure March and Cure Beauty respectively. She has found the other four Cures and they work together to defeat Akanbes and collect Cure Decors.
In Episode 6, they succeeded in bringing together the Precures and when
asked Candy what to do, Candy was paralyzed and said she don't know
shocking everbody. Just then, a book flew in, and like in Episode 1, the
book crashes in her face and Pop, Candy's big brother, comes out (and in the right time) to tell the Precures what their destiny is. He gives the Decor Décor
to the girls and showed them the Magical Library. He tells the story
about the Bad End Kingdom. In Episode 7, she collected another Cure Decor for Decor Décor. In Episode 8, she switched her mind with Candy and transforms into a new Cure, Cure Candy in Candy's
body. In the next episodes she has collected New Decors in every
episodes with other Cures. In Episode 12, she gets her tiara mode and
uses Rainbow Healing
attack with other Cures. In Episode 13 and 14, the precures went to a
class trip to Kyoto and Osaka. In Kyoto, everyone got good fortunes
except for Miyuki for her fortune is "Great Curse" and encounters many
bad things happening to her and her friends making her happiness go to
its limit. When Akaoni came and made a blue-nosed akanbe with a bad
fortune, it made Miyuki's luck worse and lost her Smile Pact to activate
Rainbow Healing and blames herself and her curse for her friends
injuries, but the Pretty Cures said that they were blessed around her
and Cure Happy now happy and found her Smile Pact and together defeated
the Blue-nosed Akanbe. After the fight, Miyuki thanked her friends for
having her luck and happiness back and saw a couple of Maiko and took a
picture with them making it the best thing that happened to Miyuki. When
Miyuki and the Pretty Cures visited Kyoto nexted and plan to go to
Kyoto Castle,Nakanoshima, and the Tennouji Zoo. Visiting Kyoto Castle,
Candy asked Miyuki and Yayoi to tie her hair resulting being separated
by Akane, Nao, and Reika. They met tourist and went around Kyoto to the
places the precures planned. They visited the Tower and looked out the
window until Majorina appeared and turned the tower into an Akanbe with
Miyuki,Yayoi and Candy trapped and shaken. Luckily, Cure Sunny, Cure
March and Cure Beauty used the butterfly decor and tired the Akanbe
until they got the girls out and defeated the Akanbe. They went to eat
takoyaki and went back with their classmates and went home happily. In
episode 20, Miyuki and Akane were turned invisible.
Last Decor
In episode 23, Pop came back when Miyuki was looking up her window and
crashed on her head again. Pop came back to tell the Pretty Cures that
they have one more Decor to revive the Royale Queen. When they told him
about Tanbata festival, Pop told them a holiday they celebrate from
Marchenland that the natives laid out candles and wished on a shooting
star, hoping that Pegasus would grant their wishes. The girls began to
hang their tanzaku on the bamboo tree and Miyuki decided to use the Star
Decor piece as part of the decorations. When they went to the Park to
see the stars, an akanbe attacked and the Pretty Cures managed to defeat
it and get the last Decor, but was quickly stolen by Joker and he
kidnapped Candy and disapeared while his laugh echoed and the Pretty
Cures called out Candy's name.
Going to Bad End Kingdom and Pierrot's Revival
The Pretty Cures were sad about Candy's kidnapping. Miyuki discovered
they still have one Decor they used for the tanabata decoration and
decided to go to Marchenland to go to go to Bad End Kingdom to rescue
Candy and the Decor Decor.
When the Cures traveled to Marchenland, there were no one around and
Joker appeared to fight them. The Pretty Cure transformed, but were
defeated by him and have their Bad energy absorbed because he needs the
Cures Bad Energy so Pierrot could revive and left with the Cures
hopeless. The Cures don't know what to do and Miyuki suggest they
separate to think about what is most important to them. When Miyuki and
the gang were by themselves and each think about it, they read the
tanzaku that Candy had written about them. With their resolve
stengthened and theri, the girls united and prepare to venture to the
Bad End Kingdom and promise to rescue Candy and and everyone will return
home safely.
When they went to Bad End Kingdom, the commanders, Wolfrun,
Akaoni, Majorina and Joker were waiting for them. While the other Cures
were fighting the 3 commanders, Joker tried to stop Happy but Beauty and
Pop battled him instead. Whilst Haappy goes to rescue Candy. As Happy
found and ran towards Candy, the ground became steep and she almost fell
into a pit of lava. Luckily, she was running so fast that she was able
to leap through the air. However, she didn't jump far enough and had to
use Happy Shower to get to the end. After getting back onto solid
ground, she spotted the Decor Décor, which turned into a yellow nose
Akanbe and smashed Happy to the ground. All the Cures were almost
defeated, but when they remembered their promise, Happy and the Pretty
Cures pumped their adrenaline and powers allowing Happy to defeat the
Yellow nose Akanbe and recover Candy and the Decor Decor.
As the Cures united and put the last Decor, they find the Decor
Decór doesn't seem to do anything with all the Decors inside, Emperor
Pierrot reveals himself. Just as the Cures are overwhelmed by Pierrot's
power, the Decor Decór glows and the Cures are contacted by the Queen of
Märchenland, who grants them the power of the Princess Candles,
allowing them to evolve into their new Princess Forms and defeat
Pierrot.
Going back to Marchenland
The Cures traveled back to Marchenland and met Royale Queen (and
surprised that she was big). Unfortunately she was still in stone and
nothing happened. When they got out of the castle, Miyuki and the girls
met the first inhabitants they meet were the soldiers, but were scared
of the girls because were human. Pop turned Miyuki and the cures into
fairies. Miyuki thought they should add a signature phrase behind their
sentences like Candy and made the phrases for them. While Pop researched
why the Queen wasn't revived, Miyuki, Candy, and the four other Cures
decided to take a tour around Marchenland. They saw characters from
stories and doing the scenes from the stories like Red Riding Hood and
Ali-Baba and the 40 Thieves. While watching, Miyuki tripped and fell on a
hill, but rescued by Puss in Boots and played with the inhabitants.
While Pop was researching in the library, the girls were enjoying the
sights of the village. When they arrived at a house made of candies,
they went to eat it. Puss wanted to get a candy and Miyuki tried to
helped him until she sneezed causing everyone to revert their human
forms. The fairies were afraid at first but Miyuki gave Puss the candy
he tried to get and soon the fairies realize they are nice and accepted
them. They heard about the Miracle jewels from the fairies that they
would grant any wish. Candy said that Joker was talking about them when
she was captured. Suddenly, Wolfrun appeared for the Miracle Jewels and
absorbed the bad energy from the Fairies. The Pretty Cures transformed
and Wolfrun used the super red nosed Akanbe and it was too powerful for
the Cures and almost defeated, but heard the fairies despair and stood
up again.
Suddenly the Princess Candles reappeared again and they transformed to
Princess Form. They defeated the Akanbe using Rainbow Burst
and it released two Cure Decor pieces. After Wolfurun retreated, the
girls heard Royale Queen's voice and headed back to the castle. Royale
Queen was speaking through telepathy and explained that the original
Cure Decor pieces which was supposed to revive her was instead given to
Pegasus, so that the girls could attain Princess Form. She also informed
them that Pierrot is still alive and they had to gather more Cure Decor
pieces to revive her. Everyone was troubled with the thought of more
battle, but Miyuki encouraged everyone to work harder and revive Royale
Queen. They then said goodbye to the fairies as the girls and Candy
returned to the human world.
Back in Earth, It was summer and Miyuki and Candy don't know what
to do. She got a call from Akane and invited her to the beach. But when
she got there, she realized Akane tricked her into helping her work in
the restaurant on the beach which she accepted. Next door was Nao doing a
ice shave stand and soon started rivalry between them. Then next
episode Miyuki explained a summer festival and invited Candy with the
girls. Candy was so excited that she got lost and became a prize. Miyuki
and the others soon found and won her and had a great time watching the
fireworks.
The Smile Cures went to Hoshizora Tae's
house near the city. Miyuki was influenced to all of the Japanese
stories by her grandmother and gotten her high and strong happiness from
her. Miyuki asked why she couldn't live in the city. Tae told her she
loves the countryside and she has a secret treasure she refuse to tell
Miyuki. The next morning, the girls were helping with the vegetables
with Tae until Wolfrun came to cool off the heat. Tae called it cute and
Miyuki and the girls did not laugh causing Wolfrun to cast a Bad End
spell on Tae, but Tae wasn't effected because she believes in happiness
just like Miyuki causing Wolfrun and the girls shocked. When Tae went
back to the house, the Pretty Cures transformed and fought the Akanbe.
Just as the girls were down and the Akanbe was going to fire the house
with Cure Happy wanting it to don't destroy the house wanting to protect
her grandmother treasure. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind caused the
blast to disappear and the Akanbe blown off. Cure Happy was surprised
and wondered if a Tengu from Tae's stories protected the house and
destroyed the blast. All of the Cures then go to their Princess form and
destroyed the Akanbe with Rainbow Burst.
Everything was back to normal and Tae came out and gave out drinks. A
gentle gust of wind blew them and Tae claimed the mountains is thanking
for something the girls had done. Miyuki then told Tae it is their
secret and they all laughed after that.
Summer was almost over and Miyuki went to school where Nao was
being a scaredy cat from reading a scary book. Miyuki was not good with
scary stories and Akane suggested they go around the school explore some
rumors of strange sightings in their school. While walking through it,
Majorina turned the school into an Akanbe, with Majorina go into her
Ultra form and several, mini Akanbe produced by the school itself. When
they got out of the Akanbe school, they purified by using Princess Form
and Rainbow Burst. When walking home from school, Reika reminded them of
their summer home works and tution which Miyuki claimed it is more
scarier than ghosts. The next episode/day, The girls met with their
teacher, Sasaki Sensei who reminded them to complete their homework
before school starts. Miyuki, Akane, Yayoi and Nao got worried as they
had not finished theirs. Candy and Miyuki found a strange dice and roll
it. Everyone got sucked into a strange world and saw the commanders in
and they told the precures if they don't finish by 6:30, they'll be
stuck forever. Cure Happy volunteered to play against Majorina. The
moles cheated and refused to come out of their holes. Cure Happy used
Happy Shower to force them out of their holes and won the game in the
end. All of the Precures manage to win all games, but one. They have to
remain happy at the end of the ride in the ferris wheel. When they got
on, they saw an image of Sasaki Sensei scolding them for not doing their
summer work. All of them were now depressed seeing this, except Cure
Beauty and Candy. Beauty encouraged them and would help them when it is
over. From the encouragement from Beauty, they remained happy and won
the game. After beating the Akanbe, got out of the game and doing their
homework... they didn't complete all of it and get an extra lesson by
Sasaki Sensei and all of them are now deppressed of getting what they
deserved. In the next episode, all of them didn't get to go overseas
during summer. Miyuki always wanted to go to see a Real castle and
others want to see places they dreamed of. They took advantage of the
Magical Library and gone to many places they dreamed of going starting
with going to France to see a Castle. After seeing all the places they
wanted to go, their last stop was the Amazon River. While on the boat
ride, Akaoni attacked and summoned Piranha Akanbe and ate Candy. It was
too hard for them to swim, but Candy used the Dolphin Decor and turned
them all to Mermaids. When Peace used Peace Thunder causing a big shock
for the Akanbe and the Precures. They manange to defeat the Akanbe and
collected the last 2 Decors. Back at the Magic Library, when putting the
Decors into the Decor Decor, appeared was a mysterious clock.

Hino Akane is one of the main Cures in Smile Precure!. An unusually passionate girl, she is able to get into any mood easily, and loves to make others laugh. Her family runs an okonomiyaki restaurant, and she often helps out there. In school, she is part of the volleyball team. She was born in Osaka and thus speaks in the Kansai dialect, like Tarte from Fresh Precure!.
Personality
Being born and raised in Osaka, Akane speaks in the Kansai dialect,
and refers to herself as "uchi" instead of the usual "watashi". Her
catchphrase is "aka~n", the Kansai equivalent of "dame da" or "This
won't do". She is also fond of saying "uchi no deban ya!" or "It's my
turn now!". She possesses a boyish personality, often reflected in the
way she stands or sits. However, she seems to love cute things, and has
an especially soft spot for gorillas.
Akane is a passionate girl who loves making others laugh. The first
impression she gives is that of the class jokester, always full of puns
and jokes to make her classmates laugh. As such, she appears to be
generally popular and well-liked. Her friends see her as an interesting
girl who always manages to make them laugh. She has a habit of speaking
her mind, which can get a little out of hand sometimes, such as when she
introduced Nao, Reika and Yayoi to Miyuki as being a "female gang leader", "Miss Popular" and "crybaby" respectively, causing visible discomfort to the three.
Yayoi, with her crybaby personality and fascination with superheroes,
is often the target of Akane's jokes. However, there does not seem to be
any ill meaning behind the teasing, and the other girls seldom take
offence.
Despite all the teasing, Akane is extremely loyal to her friends. She
also has a tendency to act before she thinks. For example, when she
witnessed Cure Happy being defeated by an Akanbe,
she remembered how Miyuki had helped her out, and immediately went to
help Happy even though she had no chance of winning against the Akanbe.
Her strong wish to help her friend earned her the Smile Pact and allowed her to transform into Cure Sunny.
With regards to being Pretty Cure, Akane was initially against the
idea, turning down Miyuki's bold invitation. When she did become a Cure,
she seems quite cool about the whole idea, ready to do her best in
battle, though not overwhelmingly enthusiastic like Miyuki or Yayoi.
Similar to Nao, she does not understand why Miyuki and Yayoi are so
hyped up about being "superheroes", and gave Miyuki a cool reception
when she insisted on the group coming up with a signature phrase. Ironically, though she loves to make puns, she was initially embarrassed by the ones made in her own Cure introductory speech.
In terms of sports, Akane is excellent at volleyball, easily
beating her classmates in a friendly match. She aims to become the ace
attacker of the school volleyball team, and comes down hard on herself
when she is unable to perform well. She is also an independent girl, as
she told Miyuki that she does not normally allow others to help her out,
but gave Miyuki a chance to help her with volleyball training due to
her enthusiasm and willingness. She can also be extremely focused, as
she turned down Miyuki's offer to become Pretty Cure (or "kiripura" as
she mistakenly calls it) as she wanted to focus on her volleyball
training.
Akane's family runs an okonomiyaki restaurant, and it is probable that Akane enjoys cooking.
Also in Episode 36 you can see the love side of her life.
History
Meeting Miyuki
When introducing herself to the class Akane makes a joke about her
name. Also introducing the future precures names and persona's. Helping
to remove the nervousness away from Miyuki and from that day forward
Miyuki depends on Akane for explaning anything that comes new to her.
Becoming Cure Sunny
The first time Akane hears about Candy was in Episode 1, when Miyuki
mentions it to her. In the next Episode, Miyuki further explains about
the Pretty Cure and Candy and tries to get her to join in. Later in the
episode, Wolfurun appears, and collects negative energy from the people playing on the field, including Akane. When Cure Happy fails to hit the Akanbe with Happy Shower
and is helpless, Akane "wakes up" from her nevative state and tries to
defend Cure Happy, despite not having the power to do so. Her strong
will for friendship caused an "explosion" and Akane finds herself in a
realm. Candy mentions she proved herself worthy of being the next Pretty
Cure and Akane proceeds to transform into Cure Sunny. In the battle,
she hits Akanbe with Sunny Fire, and purifies it. Cure Happy/Miyuki was happy for Akane/Cure Sunny to become the 2nd Pretty Cure.
In Episode 6, they succeeded in bringing together the Precures and when asked Candy what to do, Candy was paralyzed and said she don't know shocking everbody. Just then, a book flew in, and like in Episode 1, the book crashes in her face and Pop, Candy's big brother, comes out (and in the right time) to tell the Precures what their destiny is. He gives the Decor Décor to the girls and showed them the Magical Library. He tells the story about the Bad End Kingdom. In Episode 7, she collected another Cure Decor for Decor Décor. In Episode 8, Miyuki switched her mind with Candy and the precures tries to make sure Candy doesn't go wrong. At the end of school, they get mad at Candy that she ran away. When they encountered a Akanbe and all of the Precures were stuck, Miyuki transforms in Candy's Body into a new Cure, Cure Candy in Candy's body. In episode 10, last night, she found her father broke his back and when they got to the hospital, the doctor said it'll take a week to heal which is a bad time because the Mayor was coming soon to the restuarant. Akane vollentered to cook for the mayor and start practicing. She invited the Precures to her families restuarant which was named after her. She introduced her brother, Hino Genki when he came in and quite embarresed her. When he tasted the Okonomiyaki, he said that it was different from their fathers and heard he has a secret ingredient. Akane determined to find the ingredient and couldn't the mayor. The girls helped her finding various of ingredients and couldn't find it. She visited the hospital to ask for the secret ingredient, he insulted her making an argument and left. Her mom seeing her in deppression, told her the story of her first Okonomiyaki that was burnt but delious. Akane not realizing what she was saying continued making the replica of her fathers okonomiyaki. At a Food fair where Akane's family (excluding Daigo) and the precures were setting up the stand, Wolfrun came and absorbed everyone's happiness, the Precures attacked but were stuck. Wolfrun then insulted Akane's okonomiyaki that he ate saying she won't make the same as her dad. Angered by this, Cure Happy said she put all her feeling into it causing Cure Sunny to remember her parents words and realize the secret ingredient was her feelings. She gathered her determination and cheerfulness and got all the Precures out, did a special fire punch on the Akanbe and purified it with Sunny Fire. When the Mayor came, he was impressed with the Okonomiyaki she made. Daigo finally was better and came to the resturaunt and when she finally found out the secret ingredient and asked, she said it was a secret to get even from the hospital and with a smile.
In Episode 12, all the Pretty Cures get new power called tiara mode. With it, she uses their first group attack, Rainbow Healing.
In Episode 13 and 14, the precures went to a class trip to Kyoto and
Osaka. In Kyoto, everyone got good fortunes except for Miyuki for her
fortune is "Great Curse" and encounters many bad things happening to her
and her friends making her happiness go to its limit. When Akaoni came
and made a blue-nosed akanbe with a bad fortune, it made Miyuki's luck
worse and lost her Smile Pact to activate Rainbow Healing and blames
herself and her curse for her friends injuries, but the Pretty Cures
said that they were blessed around her and Cure Happy now happy and
found her Smile Pact and together defeated the Blue-nosed Akanbe. After
the fight, Miyuki thanked her friends for having her luck and happiness
back and saw a couple of Maiko and took a picture with them making it
the best thing that happened to Miyuki. When Miyuki and the Pretty Cures
visited Osaka next, Akane mentions she was born in Osaka and talk about
the food in the city. They plan to go to Kyoto Castle, Nakanoshima, and
the Tennouji Zoo. Visiting Kyoto Castle, Candy asked Miyuki and Yayoi
to tie her hair resulting being separated by Akane, Nao, and Reika. They
met tourist and went around Kyoto to the places the precures planned.
They visited the Tower and looked out the window until Majorina appeared
and turned the tower into an Akanbe with Miyuki,Yayoi and Candy trapped
and shaken. Luckily, Cure Sunny, Cure March and Cure Beauty used the
butterfly decor and tired the Akanbe until they got the girls out and
defeated the Akanbe. They went to eat takoyaki and went back with their
classmates and went home happily.
In episode 17, Akane and Miyuki entered a manzai competion with
Akane's favorite comedian duo, the Fujiwara. At the contest, the
Precures met the Fujiwara with Akane excited to meet them. Fujiwara
think them great comedians and suggest they enter the show. When they
were on, they saw all of their whole family and got stage fright. When
they did the act, it gone haywire, but the people laughed because they
thought it was an act. When the Fujiwara came in, they were enchanted by
Majorina making them not funny. Majorina then absorbed Fujiwara and the
people bad energy. The Pretty Cures fight the Akanbes, but were "under"
the Akanbe and stuck. When Majorina said laughter is useless, Fujiwara
woke up and defended laugher. The Duo then do a joke that the Akanbe
laughed causing
to fell on his head which free the girls. Sunny then unleashed Sunny
Fire at the Red Akanbe and all the Precures used Rainbow Healing on the
Blue one. When it was over, The Fujiwara thanked them Akane asked the
Fujiwara to keep their identidies secret. Later on tv, The Fujiwara imitated the Precures
making Akane embarressed as she is in a somewhat crazy expression.
In episode 20, Miyuki and Akane were turned invisible and had to go through school without anyone know the magic.
Last Decor
In episode 23, Pop came back when Miyuki was looking up her window
and crashed on her head again. Pop came back to tell the Pretty Cures
that they have one more Decor to revive the Royale Queen. When they told
him about Tanbata festival, Pop told them a holiday they celebrate from
Marchenland that the natives laid out candles and wished on a shooting
star, hoping that Pegasus would grant their wishes.
Going to Bad End Kingdom and Pierrot's RevivalEdit
The Pretty Cures were sad about Candy's kidnapping. Miyuki discovered
they still have one Decor they used for the tanabata decoration and
decided to go to Marchenland to go to go to Bad End Kingdom to rescue
Candy and the Decor Decor. When the Cures traveled to Marchenland, there
were no one around and Joker appeared to fight them. The Pretty Cure
transformed, but were defeated by him and have their Bad energy absorbed
because he needs the Cures Bad Energy so Pierrot could revive and left
with the Cures hopeless. The Cures don't know what to do and Miyuki
suggest they separate to think about what is most important to them.
When Miyuki and the gang were by themselves and each think about it,
they read the tanzaku that Candy had written about them. With their
resolve stengthened and theri, the girls united and prepare to venture
to the Bad End Kingdom and promise to rescue Candy and and everyone will
return home safely.
When they went to Bad End Kingdom, the commanders, Wolfrun, Akaoni,
Majorina and Joker were waiting for them. Cure Sunny battles Wolfrun
while the other battles the commanders and Happy go rescue Candy. All
the Cures were almost defeated, but when they remembered their promise,
the Pretty Cures pumped their adrenaline and powers defeating Wolfrun.
Pop turned the cures into fairies.
Miyuki thought they should add a signature phrase behind their sentences
like Candy and made the phrases for them. While Pop researched why the
Queen wasn't revived, Candy, and the other Cures decided to take a tour
around Marchenland. They saw characters from stories and doing the
scenes from the stories like Red Riding Hood and Ali-Baba and the 40
Thieves. While Pop was researching in the library, the girls were
enjoying the sights of the village. When they arrived at a house made of
candies, they went to eat it. Puss wanted to get a candy and Miyuki
tried to helped him until she sneezed causing everyone to revert their
human forms. The fairies were afraid at first but Miyuki gave Puss the
candy he tried to get and soon the fairies realize they are nice and
accepted them. They heard about the Miracle jewels from the fairies that
they would grant any wish. Candy said that Joker was talking about them
when she was captured. Suddenly, Wolfrun appeared for the Miracle
Jewels and absorbed the bad energy from the Fairies. The Pretty Cures
transformed and Wolfrun used the super red nosed Akanbe and it was too
powerful for the Cures and almost defeated, but heard the fairies
despair and stood up again. Suddenly the Princess Candles reappeared
again and they transformed to Princess Form. They defeated the Akanbe
using Rainbow Burst and it released two Cure Decor pieces. After
Wolfurun retreated, the girls heard Royale Queen's voice and headed back
to the castle. Royale Queen was speaking through telepathy and
explained that the original Cure Decor pieces which was supposed to
revive her was instead given to Pegasus, so that the girls could attain
Princess Form. She also informed them that Pierrot is still alive and
they had to gather more Cure Decor pieces to revive her. Everyone was
troubled with the thought of more battle, but Miyuki encouraged everyone
to work harder and revive Royale Queen. They then said goodbye to the
fairies as the girls and Candy returned to the human world. Back in
Earth, It was summer and Miyuki and Candy don't know what to do. She got
a call from Akane and invited her to the beach. But when she got there,
she realized Akane tricked her into helping her work in the restaurant
on the beach which she accepted. Next door was Nao doing a ice shave
stand and soon started rivalry between them. Then next episode Miyuki
explained a summer festival and invited Candy with the girls. Candy was
so excited that she got lost and became a prize. Miyuki and the others
soon found and won her and had a great time watching the fireworks.
Summer was almost over and Miyuki went to school where Nao was
being a scaredy cat from reading a scary book. Akane suggested they go
around the school explore some rumors of strange sightings in their
school. While walking through it, Majorina turned the school into an
Akanbe, with Majorina go into her Ultra form and several, mini Akanbe
produced by the school itself. When they got out of the Akanbe school,
they purified by using Princess Form and Rainbow Burst. When walking
home from school, Reika reminded them of their summer home works and
tution which Miyuki claimed it is more scarier than ghosts. The next
episode/day, The girls met with their teacher, Sasaki Sensei who
reminded them to complete their homework before school starts. Akane,
Miyuki, Yayoi and Nao got worried as they had not finished theirs. Candy
and Miyuki found a strange dice and roll it. Everyone got sucked into a
strange world and saw the commanders in and they told the precures if
they don't finish by 6:30, they'll be stuck forever. Cure Sunny face
Wolfrun in a Go-Kart game. Wolfrun cheated but Cure Sunny used Sunny
Fire to give a big boost and won the race. All of the Precures manage to
win all games, but one. They have to remain happy at the end of the
ride in the ferris wheel. When they got on, they saw an image of Sasaki
Sensei scolding them for not doing their summer work. All of them were
now depressed seeing this, except Cure Beauty and Candy. Beauty
encouraged them and would help them when it is over. From the
encouragement from Beauty, they remained happy and won the game. After
beating the Akanbe, got out of the game and doing their homework... they
didn't complete all of it and get an extra lesson by Sasaki Sensei and
all of them are now deppressed of getting what they deserved. In the
next episode, all of them didn't get to go overseas during summer.
Miyuki always wanted to go to see a Real castle and others want to see
places they dreamed of. They took advantage of the Magical Library and
gone to many places they dreamed of going starting with going to France
to see a Castle. After seeing all the places they wanted to go, their
last stop was the Amazon River. While on the boat ride, Akaoni attacked
and summoned Pirhana Akanbe and ate Candy. It was too hard for them to
swim, but Candy used the Dolphin Decor and turned them all to Mermaids.
When Peace used Peace Thunder causing a big shock for the Akanbe and the
Precures. They manange to defeat the Akanbe and collected the last 2
Decors. Back at the Magic Library, when putting the Decors into the
Decor Decor, appeared was a mysterious clock.
Relationships
Hoshizora Miyuki - Akane describes Miyuki as being a scatterbrain who can be serious when she wants to. Miyuki often showers her with hugs and encouragement whenever she feels down, and Akane values her as a true friend, risking herself to help Cure Happy, which gained her the Smile Pact to become Pretty Cure. However, she does not understand Miyuki's enthusiasm sometimes.Kise Yayoi - Despite teasing Yayoi lots about various things, the two seem to be good friends. Akane acknowledges Yayoi's talent in drawing and often praises her about it, making the latter blush with embarrassment.
Midorikawa Nao - Akane respects Nao as a fellow sports ace, and teasingly calls her a female "gang leader". The two seem to share a close friendship, probably due to their similar personalities, and are often seen together.
Aoki Reika - Akane seems to respect Reika, expounding her position as a member of the class committee and school council. She also describes Reika as being excellent at studies and calls her "Miss Popular".
Cure Sunny
太陽サンサン熱血パワー!キュアサニー!
Taiyou sansan nekketsu pawaa! Kyua Sanī!
Cure Sunny (キュアサニー Kyua Sanī) is Akane's Precure
alter ego. Cure Sunny has the power of Fire. Out of the 5 Smile! Cures,
Sunny has the most physical strength, she can even make earthquake with
her punch, hike the giant boulders, and she has power to lift up Akanbe monsters single-handedly and fling them a fair distance away.
Her basic purification attack is Sunny Fire.
Aside from this, she can also generate fire at will when in battle,
either in offence when attacking an enemy, or in defense when she forms a
barrier of fire around herself to neutralize others' attacks (eg: Beauty's Beauty Blizzard in Episode 10), or to create a firewall that she uses to confuse enemies. In Ep.12, she gains the Miracle Jewel Decors to transform her into Tiara Mode and combine her power with the other Cures to use their group attack, Rainbow Healing. In Ep. 23, she gained a Decor to transform her into her Princess Form and gained the Princess Candle to combine her power with the other Precures to perform their second group attack, Rainbow Burst. She can also perform Special Protecting Shield with the other Smile! Cures, and with Fu-Chan's power, an even powerful version of it. In Ep. 32, she performs the third group attack, Royal Rainbow Burst with the other Princess Cures, again with help of the Princess Candles and the Royal Clock.

Appearance
Akane has short red hair worn in a small ponytail with long bangs on
both sides of her face, held with 2 yellow hairpins on the right side.
Her eyes are a matching shade of red as well. Her casual outfit consists
of a loose long-sleeved orange dress-top with crisscrossing yellow
stripes, red pockets and a red ribbon at the back, blue skinny jeans and
red flats. Her summer outfit consists of a short-sleeved, wide-necked
shirt under a light orange tank top, khaki shorts, white stockings, and a
pair of beige open-toe boots. She wears her school uniform with a red
tie, and a orange sweater tied around her waist.
Cure Sunny has bright orange hair, the upper part of which is
worn in a single bun on top of her head with a few loose strands, while
the rest is around chin-length and is let down loose. Her eyes also
become a bright orange. Her tiara has one angel wing attached, and she
wears it on the right side of her head. Like March, she wears her
earrings on the helix of her ears. Her outfit is mainly light orange,
with bright orange lining and white highlights. Her sleeves are
single-layered, and the bow at her chest is small with a large frilly
piece behind it. The back of her top extends out in a single pastel
orange frilly piece. Her arm protectors reach past her elbows, and are
decorated with orange ribbons at the top and light orange folds at the
wrist. Her boots are long as well, reaching past her knees with orange
ribbons at the top.
In Tiara mode, her white tiara is replaced by a golden crown worn
in the center of her head. The centerpiece of her tiara is a red
circle, and the angel wing at the side of her tiara turns golden as
well. Her white angel wing earrings are replaced by gold ribbon-shaped
earrings with orange hearts in the center, and she now wears them on her
earlobes.
Transformation
"Pretty Cure! Smile Charge!" is the official transformation phrase used by Akane to transform into Cure Sunny.
The Smile pact opens, and the girls set their ribbon Cure Decor
piece into the recess. This causes their individual light to light up
first, followed by the seven lights inside the Smile Pact sequence. A
backgrounds voice asks, "Ready?" and in response, Akane shouts, "Pretty
Cure! Smile Charge!" The Smile Pact produces a powder puff, which Akane
taps on the Smile Pact to collect up magic powder. Akane snaps her
fingers to light her puff on fire and applies it once onto her chest,
surrounding herself with fire which then forms her arm protectors, shoes
and dress. Her hair then changes from red to orange and gets styled and
their eyes become a brighter shade as well. Lastly, she pats the powder
puffs onto her cheeks to give a rosy glow. After transforming, Cure
Sunny flies down from the sky, lands on her feet and recites her
introductory speech.
Attacks
Sunny Fire - Cure Sunny charges up her Smile Pact with enough
fighting spirit to make it glow and grants her power to perform the
attack. When enough fighting spirit has been collected, the Smile Pact
explodes in fire to form a fireball in the sky. Cure Sunny then does a
run, jumps into the air, spins and blasts the fireball at the enemy in a
volleyball strike.
Sunny Fire Burning - Is the upgrade version of Sunny Fire.
Etymology
Hino (日野) - 日 has multiple meanings, but the one that fits the best will be "sun". 野 means "field" or "plain".
Akane (あかね) - Akane means Madder Red, the name of a shade of intense red. It is used mostly to describe the sun and sunset. In Episode 19,
it was revealed that her father Daigo gave her this name because he
wanted one that was easy to call, and just went with the first name he
came up with using あ ("a"), the first character in the Japanese
alphabet. Her mother Masako gave her this name because of a beautiful
sunset (茜 or "akane") she saw on the day Akane was born, and hopes that
Akane will possess a heart as beautiful as the sunset.
Trivia

- Cure Sunny is the first cure to have orange theme color. However, her transformation Cure Decor is red.
- Akane is the first Cure to come from Osaka and speak in the Kansai dialect. She is the second character overall to speak in Kansai dialect, after Tarte from Fresh Precure!.

- Cure Sunny is the second Cure to control fire, after Cure Rouge from Yes! Pretty Cure 5.
- Overall, Cure Sunny is the third pyrokinetic in the franchise after Moerumba and Cure Rouge.
- Cure Sunny, along with Cure March, are the only Cures to wear their earrings attached to the helix of the ear instead of at the earlobe.
- Cure Sunny is the first Cure to have her Cure hair styled into a bun.
- In Episode 11, Akane is shown to have a fear of heights.
- The Hino family's okonomiyaki restaurant is named after Akane.
- Akane shares her first name with Fujita Akane from Futari wa Pretty Cure and Max Heart, and like her, Hino Akane is skilled at cooking.
- Akane shares her name "Hino Akane" with the female heroine from anime Cannon God Exaxxion, as well as one of the idol girls from The iDOLM@STER's Cinderella Girls series. The characters from Cannon God and The iDOLM@STER have their first names written in kanji (茜), while Smile! Akane has her first name written in hiragana (あかね). However, all their surnames are written in exactly the same way (日野).

Kise Yayoi is one of the main Cures in Smile Pretty Cure!.
While being a little bit of a crybaby, she is actually quite a strong
girl at heart. She is good at sympathizing with others, and will always
keep a promise. Although she excels at drawing manga, she has never
shown anyone her work due to her shy nature. She is part of the home
economics club in school.
Personality
She is a shy girl with a big heart. She was first depicting as a
crybaby, "crying over the slightest nudge". Though she had a few
friends, she mostly kept to her own due to her shy and modest nature.
When Miyuki and Akane saw what potential she had in art, they managed to
draw a more passionate fire out of her. When their lives were put it
danger, she completely shed her baby-ish personality and showed her true
strengths.
Now that she's made a few friends, Yayoi has became more outgoing
and passionate about being a Pretty Cure, especially the superheroic
elements. She is quite bubbly and sweet, and while she may appear as a
crybaby, she is actually quite strong when it comes to protecting her
friends and making the right decision.
History
Meeting Miyuki
She first met Miyuki when Akane was trying to help Miyuki with her
self introduction. She tells Miyuki to not worry, that Akane only did
that to help break the ice. Miyuki became more acquainted with Yayoi
after catching her sketching a few characters. Seeing what potential she
had, Akane and Miyuki insisted she entered the school's poster
competition.
Becoming Cure Peace
Yayoi's modest nature got the best of her when she didn't win the
poster competition and ripped her poster off the wall. She ran away and
broke down crying, where she met Akaoni, who turned everything into a
bad ending and made Yayoi's poster into a Akanbe. Miyuki and Akane
transformed, but they used too much power at the start of the fight and
became too tired to continue. Yayoi gathered her courage and tried to
protect her friends, when a beam of light hits her and she transforms
into Cure Peace, however she immediately gets
scared and runs from the Akanbe. While she runs with Cure Happy and Cure
Sunny, she falls over and starts crying. Her tears release a surge of
lightning which Candy says Peace has control over. She finishes the
Akanbe off with her attack, "Peace Thunder."
In Episode 6, they
succeeded in bringing together the Precures and when asked Candy what to
do, Candy was paralyzed and said she don't know shocking everbody. Just
then, a book flew in, and like in Episode 1, the book crashes in her
face and Pop, Candy's big brother, comes out (and in the right time) to
tell the Precures what their destiny is. He gives the Decor Décor to the
girls and showed them the Magical Library. He tells the story about the
Bad End Kingdom. In Episode 7, she collected another Cure Decor for
Decor Décor. In Episode 8, Miyuki switched her mind with Candy and the
precures tries to make sure Candy doesn't go wrong. At the end of
school, they get mad at Candy that she ran away. When they encountered a
Akanbe and all of the Precures were stuck, Miyuki transforms in Candy's
Body into a new Cure, Cure Candy in Candy's body. In Episode 9, it was
Aprils Fools and shows behind her shy personality, she's a great lair
and it gives her a chance to lie things. First off, she got lied by her
mom of getting pancakes that makes her get up from bed. She later got
back at her and get equal. At school, she was happy on lying Miyuki
first by telling her that she's exchanging schools. Miyuki and Candy
were shocked. When Yayoi got her back turned for a moment to be happy,
she got back to them telling them it was a joke, but were gone telling
Akane and both have empathy for her moving as it was hard for them to
say good-bye when they moved. When Yayoi met them and hear about it, she
was scared of losing her friends from her lie imagining what would they
say. As soon as the Rumor soon spread the classroom prepared a good bye
party for her. So sad, she then cried out of the classroom. Suddenly
Akaoni came and brought an Akanbe that beats the Precures by Akaoni
lying. The Angry Precures were angered wanting a fair fight and shouted
that they hated lairs. Akaoni then said that Peace was a lair herself
that Peace cried and confessed that she was lying because it was April
Fools and apologized for not telling. The Precures were actually
relieved to hear that she's not transferring (blamed Happy for falling
for it). Akaoni then got bored and when he lied again, Peace attacked
the Akanbe without being tricked and realized that her friends did not
get angry of her lie because it didn't hurt them and is getting hurt by
his lies. With her renewed energy, Peace then send out a Peace Thunder
to purify the Akanbe. After the battle, Yayoi confessed her lie of not
transferring that to the classmates that they respond of being relieved
and it was okay because it was April Fools, it was a holiday it was okay
to lie. Yayoi was now relieved to hear it, but the Precures then did a
prank on her by pretending they didn't like the prank she pulled and
don't want to be her friend. Yayoi then cried from
In Episode 12, all the Pretty Cures get new power called Tiara mode. With it, she uses their first group attack,Rainbow Healing.
In Episode 13 and 14, the precures went to a class trip to Kyoto and
Osaka. In Kyoto, everyone got good fortunes except for Miyuki for her
fortune is "Great Curse" and encounters many bad things happening to her
and her friends making her happiness go to its limit. When Akaoni came
and made a blue-nosed akanbe with a bad fortune, it made Miyuki's luck
worse and lost her Smile Pact to activate Rainbow Healing and blames
herself and her curse for her friends injuries, but the Pretty Cures

when she was captured. Suddenly, Wolfrun appeared for the Miracle
Jewels and absorbed the bad energy from the Fairies. The Pretty Cures
transformed and Wolfrun used the super red nosed Akanbe and it was too
powerful for the Cures and almost defeated, but heard the fairies
despair and stood up again. Suddenly the Princess Candles reappeared
again and they transformed to Princess Form. They defeated the Akanbe

- Yayoi is the only Smile Cure who is not athletic (Miyuki does cheerleading, Akane does volleyball, Nao does football, and Reika does archery).
- Yayoi's voice actor, Kanemoto Hisako, is famous for voicing Ika Musume in the story Ika Musume.
- Due to how Yayoi's short stature, she was speculated to be aged at 13, like Urara from Yes! Pretty Cure 5!

redirected the power from destroying the house. When everyone got up,
they used Rainbow Burst on the Akanbe.
The next episode/day, The girls meet with their
teacher, Sasaki Sensei who reminds them to complete their homework
before school starts.
Cure March challenges Akaoni to a game of baseball. She
successfully hit the ball, but the scoreboard Akanbe blew the ball to
Akaoni's direction to catch it. March uses March shoot to redirect the
ball away from Akaoni, flew over the Scoreboard making it a Home run and
win the game. All of the Precures manage to win all games, but one.
They have to remain happy at the end of the ride in the ferris wheel.
When they got on, they saw an image of Sasaki Sensei scolding them for
not doing their summer work and shows an image of playing with her
siblings instead doing her homework. All of them were now depressed
seeing this, except Cure Beauty and Candy. Beauty encouraged them and
would help them when it is over. From the encouragement from Beauty,
they remained happy and won the game. After beating the Akanbe, got out
of the game and doing their homework... they didn't complete all of it
and get an extra lesson by Sasaki Sensei and all of them are now
deppressed of getting what they deserved. In the next episode, all of
them didn't get to go overseas during summer. Nao says she wanted to run
through the vast plains of Mongolia and others want to see places they
dreamed of. They took advantage of the Magical Library and gone to many
places they dreamed of going. After seeing all the places they wanted to
go, their last stop was the Amazon River. While on the boat ride,
Akaoni attacked and summoned Pirhana Akanbe and ate Candy. It was too
hard for them to swim, but Candy used the Dolphin Decor and turned them
all to Mermaids. When Peace used Peace Thunder causing a big shock for
the Akanbe and the Precures. They manange to defeat the Akanbe and
collected the last 2 Decors. Back at the Magic Library, when putting the
Decors into the Decor Decor, appeared was a mysterious clock.

Transformation
"Pretty Cure! Smile Charge!" is the official transformation phrase used by Nao to transform into Cure March.
The Smile Pact opens first and Nao sets her ribbon Cure Decor
piece into the recess. This causes her individual light to light up
first, followed by the seven lights inside the Smile Pact in sequence. A
background voice asks, "Ready?" and in response, Nao shouts out,
"Pretty Cure! Smile Charge!" The Smile Pact produces a powder puff,
which she taps on the Smile Pact to collect up magic powder. Nao uses
her puff to draw a triangle of magic powder, which then explodes into
wind that forms her arm protectors, shoes and dress. Her hair lengthens
as its color shifts from dark green to light green. Lastly, she pats the
powder puff onto her cheeks to give a rosy glow. After transforming,
Cure March flies down from the sky, lands on her feet and recites her
introductory speech.
Attack
March Shoot - Cure March first charges up her Smile Pact with
fighting spirit, making it glow and granting her power. When enough
fighting spirit has been collected, the Smile Pact explodes with wind
energy that lifts Cure March off the ground and into theair. March then
compresses the wind into a ball and kicks it at the enemy soccer-style.
March Shoot Impact - An upgraded version of March Shoot.
Etymology
Midorikawa (緑川) - 緑 means "green", while 川 means "river".
Nao (なお) - Nao has the meaning of "straight", as in "straightforward". In Episode 19, it was revealed that her father Genji gave her this name, because he wishes to bring her up to be a straightforward person.
Cure March - Cure March's name could refer to the fact
that the month of March marks the beginning of Spring in the northern
hemisphere in meteorology. This relationship to Spring could explain her
name and theme colour. There is also a general assumption that March is
the windiest month of the year therefore establishing a link between
her name and power over wind. It could also do with the fact that
marching is related to courage, which is what her personality shows.
Trivia
- In her introductory speech, Cure March says "rinrin", which has multiple meanings. Rinrin can mean "severe" or "intense", which corresponds with Nao's personality. It can also mean "piercing and cold", which may be a reference to March's power over wind.
- March is only the second full-fledged green Cure, the first being Mint from Yes! Pretty Cure 5.
- March is the first Cure to sport a ponytail and twintails simultaneously.
- March is the second Cure to have her earrings on the helix instead of the earlobe, the first being Cure Sunny.
- March is the only Cure from her team to have a tiara over her forehead instead of on her head. She is the third Cure overall to have a tiara over her forehead, the first being Milky Rose from Yes! Pretty Cure 5: GoGo!, and the second being Cure Muse from Suite Pretty Cure♪.
- March is the second Cure to control wind after Windy from Futari wa Pretty Cure Splash Star.
- Nao is the third Cure to play soccer, following Natsuki Rin from Yes! Pretty Cure 5 and Hojo Hibiki from Suite Pretty Cure♪.
- Nao is the Cure with the most number of siblings in the entire franchise.
- Nao is the only Smile! Cure to have received her powers while in casual clothes. The others all received their powers while in school clothes (Miyuki, Yayoi and Reika in their school uniforms and Akane in her sports attire).
- It is shown in Episode 11 that Nao is afraid of insects and heights.
- Nao's attack "March Shoot" is nearly the same as Natsuki Rin's upgraded attack from Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo! and they both involve shooting a fireball just like it was a soccer ball.
- March is the only Cure in Smile Pretty Cure who, in her child form, makes the same movements as her normal aged form during her intro speech.

Aoki Reika is one of the main Cures in Smile Precure!.
With her elegant demeanor, she is an awe-inspiring yet kind girl. As
vice-head of the Student Council and now president, she is very
reliable. Though she does not get angry at other's carelessness, she can
be the most frightening one of all when she does get angry. She is part
of the archery team in school. Her alter ego is Cure Beauty (キュアビューティ Kyua Byuuti).
Personality
When first introduced, Reika is shown as elegant and quiet, but also
quite understanding. She is quite modest, and hates to put anyone
through trouble, going so far as to intitially refuse any help. Reika is
also quite calm and patient, not even out off a bit when the other
girls told her about Pretty Cure,
and tried to spare their feelings even when refusing their original
request to become a Pretty Cure with them. She is very responsible and
hard working on her studies, her clubs and as a Precure.
When Reika was revealed to truly be a Pretty Cure, she was the
most accepting of any of them, being the only one that wasn't surprised
at all. She showed she was naturally calm and focused in battle, barely
breaking a sweat when defeating her first Akanbe.
She also occasionally displays an obsession with finding her "path" in
life, and appears to take her Pretty Cure duties quite seriously. She
also takes it seriously trying to find an answer or what to do to (achieve something)
She doesn't seem to get scared easily like in Ep. 28, when
everyone was scared, except for Yayoi when she was excited to see a
ghost, Reika was calm and a little surprised.
History
Childhood
When little, she was became friends with Nao. She was there when Nao
has a new brother. While staring at him while asleep, Nao told Reika
that she'll become a good older sister. Reika still remembers this
recollection.
Meeting Miyuki
Reika first met Miyuki at Miyuki's class presentation, where Akane
introduced Miyuki to her as "Miss Popular". A few days later, Miyuki
saw Reika watering the flowers, where Miyuki was in awe of her kindness
and selflessness, describing her as a "water fairy". She, along with
Akane, Yayoi, and Nao,
asked her to become a Pretty Cure with them. However, Reika kindly
refused. Miyuki followed Reika and found out that, as Vice President,
she was supposed to do a read aloud for the children at the Primary
School. Miyuki and the other Cures offered their abilities to help make
the presentation.
Becoming Cure Beauty
At the read along, Majorina showed up and ruined it, turning everything into a Bad End. She then tranformed a crafted mirror into an Akanbe,
which then cloned intself into nine clones. Each of the Cures tried to
guess which one was real but they all guessed wrong and became too
exhausted to continue. Reika snapped out of her catatonic state just in
time. When she went to defend her friends, she transformed into Cure
Beauty. Without stopping to even think about what was happening, Reika
used her sharp wit to decide which one was real and proceeded to destroy
it. After Majorina left, they resume the play and Reika accepted
becoming a Pretty Cure.
Collecting Decors
In Episode 6, they succeeded in bringing together the Precures and
when asked Candy what to do, Candy was paralyzed and said she don't know
shocking everbody. Just then, a book flew in, and like in Episode 1,
the book crashes in her face and Pop, Candy's big brother, comes out
(and in the right time) to tell the Precures what their destiny is. He
gives the Decor Décor to the girls and showed them the Magical Library.
He tells the story about the Bad End Kingdom. In episode 11, they were
turned tiny by Majorina's inventions. They did many obstacles trying to
find a way to get Candy. One of the obstacles of her idea was using the
Umbrella Decor to fall gently to the ground from a window. When they
meet the bugs and insects, she tries to help Nao with her problems and
introduced the world of bugs and insects to her in a different light
that Nao understands.
In Episode 12, she came up to find Candy after she ran away. She
tried to help her with her problems, but Candy ran until she captured by
Wolfrun. The Blue Nose Akanbe was too powerful for the Cures, until
Candy unleashed the Miracle Decors and the Precures gains their tiara
mode to use thier group attack, "Rainbow Healing". In Episode 13 and 14,
the precures went to a class trip to Kyoto and Osaka. In Kyoto,
everyone got good fortunes except for Miyuki for her fortune is "Great
Curse" and encounters many bad things happening to her and her friends
making her happiness go to its limit. When Akaoni came and made a
blue-nosed akanbe with a bad fortune, it made Miyuki's luck worse and
lost her Smile Pact to activate Rainbow Healing and blames herself and
her curse for her friends injuries, but the Pretty Cures said that they
were blessed around her and Cure Happy now happy and found her Smile
Pact and together defeated the Blue-nosed Akanbe. After the fight,
Miyuki thanked her friends for having her luck and happiness back and
saw a couple of Maiko and took a picture with them making it the best
thing that happened to Miyuki. When Miyuki and the Pretty Cures visited
Kyoto nexted and plan to go to Kyoto Castle, Nakanoshima, and the
Tennouji Zoo. Akane explained about the food there and Rieka is
interested into eating takoyaki. Visiting Kyoto Castle, Reika became the
guide telling the history of the Kyoto Castle. Candy asked Miyuki and
Yayoi to tie her hair resulting being separated by Akane, Nao, and
Reika. They went around Kyoto to the places the precures planned while
Rieka, Akane, and Nao were looking for them and going to the same places
they went to. Miyuki, Yayoi, and Candy visited the Tower and looked out
the window until Majorina appeared and turned the tower into an Akanbe
with Miyuki,Yayoi and Candy trapped and shaken. Luckily, Cure Sunny,
Cure March and Cure Beauty used the butterfly decor and tired the Akanbe
until they got the girls out and defeated the Akanbe. They went to eat
takoyaki where Reika managed to get her first bite and went back with
their classmates and went home happily. The next episode, she made a
ceramic tea cup written the Japanese word "Gratitude" for her mother for
mothers day and her mother was happy for this gift from her daughter.
In episode 16, it shows her daily shedule on mornings jogging
with her brother and making Bento with her mother. At school, she had
the highest grades while all the other precures failed in each. She was
asked by Miyuki why she study hard even though they (to the cures
suggestion) have no use for the future. Reika couldn't figure it out.
The next day, she asked her grandfather for help and tells him her
problems about feeling studying isn't her motivation and joining
Council, archery club, and becoming a Precure without her own will and
was asked by students. She never started to do something what she wants
freely. Her grandfather said she should give up all her things and quit
the school council, class committee, archery club, studying, and even
being Pretty Cure to find her own path. At school, she announced to
everyone that she is quitting everything, shocking everyone. After the
commotion, Nao announced Reika should take a break and think what she
wants to do. Her family decides to cancel their Daily schedule with her
and tells her to do what she wants. Wondering what she wants to do, she
tries to follow the precures on what they do and amazed on the hard
work they wanted to do. She confess her thoughts to Candy about how the
Cures do things what they want and she doesn't have one. Candy cheered
her up that she Suddenly when an Akanbe appeared, the precures tries to
fight without Reika, but it was a textbook Akanbe and loses to each to
its questions. Finally, Reika transform into Beauty and manages to
answer the Akanbe problems. She tells them that she learned many things
from the Cures lives and realizes that she wants study to learn many
things so she could one day find her path and it is now her way
of wanting to do. She defeats the Akanbe with Beauty Blizzard and free
the Cures. She soon gives advices to the Cures how to improve their
studies and goes continues her daily life.
In episode 23, Pop came back to tell the Pretty Cures that they
have one more Decor to revive the Royale Queen. When they told him about
Tanbata festival, Pop told them a holiday they celebrate from
Marchenland that the natives laid out candles and wished on a shooting
star, hoping that Pegasus would grant their wishes.
Miyuki discovered
they still have one Decor they used for the tanabata decoration and
decided to go to Marchenland to go to Bad End Kingdom to rescue Candy
and the Decor Decor. When the Cures traveled to Marchenland, there were
no one around and Joker appeared to fight them.
With their
resolve stengthened and theri, the girls united and prepare to venture
to the Bad End Kingdom and promise to rescue Candy and and everyone will
return home safely.
When they went to Bad End Kingdom, the commanders, Wolfrun, Akaoni,
Majorina and Joker were waiting for them. While the other Cures were
fighting the 3 commanders, Joker tried to stop Happy but Beauty and Pop
battled him instead and Joker was quite impressed by her stregnth and
intellience All the Cures were almost defeated, but when they remembered
their promise, Beauty and the Pretty Cures pumped their adrenaline and
powers allowing her to have a strong Beauty Blizzard and defeated Joker,
but he managed to escape.
As the Cures united and put the last Decor in the Decor Decor
they recovered, but they find it doesn't seem to do anything with all
the Decors inside, Emperor Pierrot reveals himself. Just as the Cures
are overwhelmed by Pierrot's power, the Decor Decór glows and the Cures
are contacted by the Queen of Märchenland, who grants them the power of
the Princess Candles, allowing them to evolve into their new Princess
Forms and defeat Pierrot.
The Pretty Cures transformed
and Wolfrun used the super red nosed Akanbe and it was too powerful for
the Cures and almost defeated, but heard the fairies despair and stood
up again. Suddenly the Princess Candles reappeared again and they
transformed to Princess Form. They defeated the Akanbe using Rainbow
Burst and it released two Cure Decor pieces. After Wolfurun retreated,
the girls heard Royale Queen's voice and headed back to the castle.
Royale Queen was speaking through telepathy and explained that the
original Cure Decor pieces which was supposed to revive her was instead
given to Pegasus, so that the girls could attain Princess Form. She also
informed them that Pierrot is still alive and they had to gather more
Cure Decor pieces to revive her. Everyone was troubled with the thought
of more battle, but Miyuki encouraged everyone to work harder and revive
Royale Queen. They then said goodbye to the fairies as the girls and
Candy returned to the human world.
Back in Earth, It was summer and was helping Nao with shaved ice store
and next door was Akanes Okonomiyaki and soon Nao and Akane started
rivalry between them while the games they play, Rieka and Miyuki enjoy,
Nao and Akane makes a competion. Then next episode Miyuki and Candy join
up with the girls for the summer festival where Reika shows her ability
on catching goldfish. Candy was so excited that she got lost and became
a prize. The Precures soon found and won her and had a great time
watching the fireworks.
The Smile Cures went to Hoshizora Tae's house near the city.
Miyuki was influenced to all of the Japanese stories by her grandmother
and gotten her high and strong happiness from her. Miyuki asked why she
couldn't live in the city. Tae told her she loves the countryside and
she has a secret treasure she refuse to tell Miyuki. The next morning,
the girls were helping with the vegetables with Tae until Wolfrun came
to cool off the heat. Tae called it cute and Miyuki and the girls did
not laugh causing Wolfrun to cast a Bad End spell on Tae, but Tae wasn't
effected because she believes in happiness just like Miyuki causing
Wolfrun and the girls shocked. When Tae went back to the house, the
Pretty Cures transformed and fought the Akanbe. Just as the girls were
down and the Akanbe was going to fire the house with Cure Happy wanting
it to don't destroy the house wanting to protect her grandmother
treasure. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind caused the blast to disappear
and the Akanbe blown off. Cure Happy was surprised and wondered if a
Tengu from Tae's stories protected the house and destroyed the blast.
All of the Cures then go to their Princess form and destroyed the Akanbe
with Rainbow Burst. Everything was back to normal and Tae came out and
gave out drinks. A gentle gust of wind blew them and Tae claimed the
mountains is thanking for something the girls had done. Miyuki then told
Tae it is their secret and they all laughed after that.
When

and Rainbow Burst.
Cure Beauty does a swimming game, but there was a shark
in the water, so she used her mind and turned the water into ice using Beauty Blizzard
and skated her way to the end and win. All of the Precures manage to
win all games, but one. They have to remain happy at the end of the ride
in the ferris wheel.

Beauty Blizzard - Cure Beauty charges her Smile Pact with
spirit until it glows. When this happens, the Smile Pact becomes snow
and is compressed into a ball, gathering on her right hand. With her
free hand, she creates a snowflake and both the ball and snowflake are
combined into one. Cure Beauty, then, releases a beam of ice at her
enemies.
Etymology
Aoki (青木) - 青 means "blue", while 木 means "wood" or "tree".
Reika (れいか) - Reika has many meanings. One is 零下 or "sub-zero", which is a reference to Beauty's power over ice. In Episode 19,
it was revealed that her grandfather Soutarou gave her the kanji name
麗華, which means "beautiful and elegant", in hopes that she will grow up
to have such a personality, which she did.
Trivia
- In her introductory speech, Cure Beauty says "shinshin", which is the onomatopoeia equivalent of "snow falling and piling up" in Japanese.
- Incidentally, Reika's name in kanji (麗華) can also be read as "Urara", the name of one of the Cures from Yes! Pretty Cure 5.
- Cure Beauty is the first Cure to have control over ice, though in some way her attack resembles Frozen brothers from the 2nd movie of Max Heart.
- Reika shares her voice actress with Dark Dream.
- Reika and Honoka both have same the elderly in the family.
- Reika shows many similarities with Minazuki Karen from Yes! Pretty Cure 5:
- Both are in their school's student council (Karen is the president while Reika is the vice-president)
- Both now president of their schools student Council.
- Both have blue as their theme color;
- Both have connections to archery: Reika is in the school archery team and Cure Aqua has an attack named Sapphire Arrow;
- Both have great intelligence or the smartest of the Precures;
- Both are very respected and popular at their respective schools;
- Both have polite and calm personalities;
- Water and ice are the same substance in different states, so their powers are similar as well;
- Both have a strand of hair hanging over one of their shoulders.
- Both are the 5th cures of their group.
- Reika has level of the student council lower than level of the Student Council of Hibari Kyoya from the Reborn.
- It is shown on Reika's profile that she has an older brother who practice judo, her father (yet to be seen in the show) is an artist and her mother practice aikido.

During Episode 8, Miyuki and Candy accidentally switched bodies due to Majorina's
rings. Because of this, Candy (in Miyuki's body) could not transform
into Cure Happy because she was not the actual Cure. However, Miyuki (in
Candy's body) was able to transform, not into Cure Happy, but into a
parody named Cure Candy.
Cure Candy's outfit looks exactly like Happy's, and they share a similar transformation sequence. However, Cure Candy has her own introductory phrase and alter ego name. Also, Cure Candy carries the Smile Pact on her back, much like a backpack, instead of having it attached at her right hip.
Like Happy, Cure Candy is able to perform purification attack Happy Shower, though she uses her ears to draw the heart instead of her hands.
Pop - Pop is Candy's older brother. Both she and Pop were assigned to find the Pretty Cures on Earth. Candy loves her brother and when he visits, she would always jump out and embrace him. Pop is a responsible older brother to Candy, and always looks out for her. In turn, Candy depends on him a lot and is extremely attached to him. Pop loves her little sister and knows her very well.

Personality wise, Candy is very girly and is very fond of fashionable stuff. She also likes to dress herself up and style her ears in different fashions. She can be also a bit strict about Miyuki and the girl's status as Pretty Cures. She can be a Crybaby, a bit childish and can get easily scared when saddened. Candy also acts like a little sister when Pop is around. She doesn't know the human world very well so Miyuki explains the customs. When she has trouble or worries, like not being any help for the Pretty Cures, she asks for advice from Reika.History

Despite worries for Miyuki for her carelessness, Miyuki always look out for her and always worried about her when she gets lost. Miyuki and Candy have great terms on each other because of their "High Happiness". Miyuki sometimes introduces and explains costums of the human world.Pop - Pop is Candy's older brother. Etymology

- Candy ends her sentences with "kuru~", which means "curly", and this is probably a pun on her curly ears and tail.
- Candy's ears resemble lollipops. This is a possible reason for why she is named Candy. Candy is also the only mascot whose appearance changes nearly every episode.
- Candy's design bears similarities to many of the mascots from previous seasons. Her sheep-like appearance mirrors to the sheep that appeared in the Aesop The Wolf and the Sheep.
- Candy and Pop are the second mascot sibling pair in the series, the first two being Pollun and Lulun.
- Candy's voice actress, Ōtani Ikue, is famous for voicing Pikachu from Pokemon and Chopper from One Piece. She has also voiced Olivier from the Heartcatch Pretty Cure! movie, and Hana-chan from Ojamajo DoReMi, another Toei series.
- A Running-Gag in Candy's role is when she is paired with Hoshizora Miyuki, who is voiced by Fukuen Misato. In the Pokemon series, Fukuen voiced Oshawott while Ōtani voiced Pikachu.
- A running gag in the first few episodes is that Candy keeps getting mistaken for a different kind of animal doll much to Candy's dismay. These include a sheep, a tanuki (raccoon dog), a piglet etc.
- Candy, in her Parody Cure Form, is a tribute to Momozono Love's alter Cure ego, Cure Peach from Fresh Pretty Cure!
- Candy is also the second mascot to switch bodies with a cure. The first being Tart switching bodies with Yamabuki Inori.

Pop is a lion-like fairy and the second fairy mascot in Smile Precure!. He came to Earth after his little sister, Candy, to pass the Cures the Decor Décor to collect the Cure Decor pieces in. He ends his sentences with "~de gozaru".
Pop has a samurai's soul, and often acts like one. This is also reflected in his colloquial speech patterns. For example, he ends his sentences with "~de gozaru", says goodbye as "saraba da" instead of the usual "sayonara", and refers to himself as "sessha", a traditional term used by samurai in the past. He sees himself as a man and gets insulted when Akane calls him "cute" in Episode 6. However, he does not react well to praise, like when Yayoi calls him "cool". When that happens, he turns red and gets flustered, often backing away hurriedly and tripping up or banging his head in the process. In his human form, when he gets called cute, he still gets insulted and does his "samurai pride" and when he is called cool, he reacts well to praise.
Hoshizora Miyuki - While he does not understand Miyuki's enthusiasm at times, like when she insisted on everyone coming up with a signature phrase, Pop trusts Miyuki and is assured that the girls will do their best to look after Candy in his absence.
Kise Yayoi - When Yayoi called him cool, he blushed and backed off in distance, banging his head in the process. This may be a hint that he may have a crush on Yayoi.

History
First Appearance
Pop's first appearance is in Episode 6 when the Cures ask Candy about what they should be doing. He pops out of a book and takes them to the Magical Library where he shows the girls the book that Candy came from. He then gives the girls the Decor Décor and tells them to collect and store the Cure Decor inside it. He also explains how the library works and that you can use the combination to go to the nearest bookcase at the place you're thinking of at the time. He senses Majorina causing trouble and tells the Cures to picture where she is to get to the place to stop her. Right before Miyuki goes thorugh the portal, she becomes distracted because she saw a book with a penguin on the cover, ending up at the South Pole where Pop goes to rescue her. He also helps defeat Majorina by turning into a gigantic drink can crusher to crush the soda can Akanbe. He then says that he has to return to Märchenland to finish a mission there and that they can contact him by using the cell phone decor.Helping to rescue Candy and reappearance

Like Candy, he has blue heart-shaped markings near his eyes, and his mane is styled such that it covers his right eye from view. His ears stick out from his mane and lie curled up against his head, though it has been shown that he can uncurl them at will.Personality
Unlike Candy, Pop comes off as a very mature and responsible character. As such, he is a good brother to Candy, always looking out for her and even doing her ears in new styles. He understands that Candy is actually a crybaby inside and afraid of loneliness, and is thus worried about leaving her alone in the human world. In return, Candy is extremely reliant on him, always holding onto his tail and crying when he leaves her to return to Märchenland.Pop has a samurai's soul, and often acts like one. This is also reflected in his colloquial speech patterns. For example, he ends his sentences with "~de gozaru", says goodbye as "saraba da" instead of the usual "sayonara", and refers to himself as "sessha", a traditional term used by samurai in the past. Abilities/Powers
Using traditional power scrolls, Pop is able to transform into giant versions of various objects to do battle. Royale Queen is the ruler of Märchenland . She appears in Smile Precure!.
History
When
Märchenland was attacked by Pierrot and the Bad End Kingdom, she used
the Cure Decors that make up her power, but they were stolen by him. She
then used the remainder of her power to seal Pierrot away, but that
caused her to turn into a statue. She sent five magical lights to Earth.
She then sent Candy to search for the Pretty Cures that have the five
magical lights in order to recover the Cure Decors and restore her
power.
The
Decor Decor were now gathered after defeating the commanders and saving
Candy, but nothing happened. Suddenly Pierrot was revived and attacked
the Precures with a blast of dark energy. Candy's cries soon reached to
Royale Queen spirit and Royale decided to give the power, that was
suppouse to revive her, to the awaken Pegasaus for the Precures to gain a
new power to overcome Pierrot. While gaining the power, the Precures
heard her voice in a sort of telepathy. In episode 24, the Cures went back to Märchenland to go to the palace and met Royale Queen (and were surprised that she was big). Unfortunately she was still in stone and nothing happened.
Then
the Cures heard the Queens voice and visited her palace again. When
they looked at the statue, she successfully communicated with them via
telepathy. She was glad that the Precures were there. When the Cures
asked if she is awake, but the Queen said she isn't, but she has a
slight telepathic power. She explained that she would awaken when all 16
Decors are here, but they used the power of all the Cure Decor for
Pegasus to give them a new power, Princess Form. The Cures were
dissapointed, but the Queen said not to worry since there are 16 more
Decors, but Pierrot is still alive and the Bad End Kingdom will revive
him. The Cures were scared to fight more, but Miyuki said they'll be
okay and the Queen thanked them, then asked them to continue. The Pretty
Cures left Marchenland before saying good-bye to many of their new
friends.
The
Cures finally gathered all of the Decors and a clock appeared leaving
the Cures wondering what it was. Pop came and told the cures what it
was. When Pop operated it, Queen Royale appeared in a small hologram on
the clock. She thanks them for recovering the Decors and tells everyone
that in order to draw out the power of the Royal Clock, it needs the
Precures and Candy's strength. She sensed a prensence of Bad End Kingdom
and leaves after everyone notices the sky. When Candy passed out
in the battle, Royale appeared again in her dream and tells her how
Candy shown kindness to her friends and didn't give up her happiness and
smile. She asks to treasure these precious thoughts. She was last seen smiling before Candy woke up.
Trivia
- We risk stating the obvious by mentioning that Royale Queen, as a giant queen who rules over the mascot creatures' homeland and must be revived by the heroines, has some similarities to the Queen from Futari wa Pretty Cure.
- The Princess Form outfits seem to be loosely based on Royale Queen's appearance.

Pierrot (ピエーロ Pierrot), is the emperor of Bad End Kingdom.
For the first half of the season, the Bad End Kingdom villains worked
to collect enough Bad Energy to revive him, as he had been sealed away
by Royale Queen before the start of the story. In Episode 23,
he was successfully revived, but temporarily defeated by the Princess
Cures. However, a piece of Pierrot (possibly his heart) managed to
escape.
History
Sometime before the start of the series he was sealed away at the
same time the Royale Queen fell into a deep slumber. His minions have
been collecting bad energy to try to revive him and seem to have
succeeded only to have him suffer a temporary defeat at the hands of the
Pretty Cures who attained their Princess forms. A piece of him seems to
have been shot off into space where he is undergoing a transformation
and a second revival.
Appearance
Pierrot resembles a gigantic clown, dressed in a dark purple clown's
suit. He has red glowing eyes, a red nose and purple hair, decorated
with 4 colored balls that resemble the Akanbe noses. He also has purple
flame erupting from the top of his head.
Abilities
As the head of the villains, Pierrot is probably fierce and intense,
and a blast of Bad Energy from his mouth easily defeated the Cures' Rainbow Healing
attack. However, his just-awakened state was no match for the Cure's
upgraded Princess Forms and he was temporarily defeated by new attack Rainbow Burst.
Etymology
In popular culture, Pierrot is a term used to describe a sad
clown. It is derived from the word "Pierre", which means "Peter" in
Italian.
Trivia
- Pierrot's voice actor, Genda Tesshou, also voiced main villain Howling from the Suite Pretty Cure♪ movie, and currently voices Gorisaki Banana from Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, which airs exactly one hour before Smile Precure.
Joker
ジョーカー
Description:
Season : Smile Precure!
Gender : Male
Hair Colour : Blue
Home Place : Bad End Kingdom
First Appearance : Smile Precure! Episode 6
Joker (ジョーカー Jōkā) works alongside Wolfurun, Majorina and Akaoni of the Bad End Kingdom.
His appearance is based off Harlequins. Vibrant as his clownish
appearance, Joker tends to playfully break out in acrobatics and non
sequiturs, but it is clear that his bouncy bearing belies a sadistic
lover of destruction.
History
First Appearance
Joker first appears in the Bad End Kingdom,
when the three commanders are playing cards. He comes out of the
"Joker" card that the three are using for the old maid. He then goes on
to explain the full Bad End Plan including the fact that they plan to
eventually do this to the entire universe starting with Earth.
Blue Noses
Joker appears again in the Bad End Kingdom to give the three
commanders blue noses which allows them to summon monsters that are
resistant to the precures normal attack since they are not made from
cure decor. It is also revealed, behind the commanders back, that Joker
finds his allies bothersome and he is trying to find the miracle jewell
which grants wishes.
Stealing the Decors and Candy
In the Bad End Kingdom, Joker appears landing softly on a lake,
holding and shuffling a pile of cards. When he lands on the lake, the
ripples cleared to show the reflection of the clock that shows how much
Bad energy collected. Joker tells to himself that soon, when it is full,
it will revive the Emperor Pierrot. He picked a Card and it turn into a
Rose and it wilted black as a couple of petals fallen and float on the
water. Later he is now on the bridge still shuffling cards and
remembering Candy's power of granting the Miracle Jewels. Then Akoni
appeared saying that he's going to get bad energy and Joker cheered on
to Akoni to say "Good Luck". At the end, The Precures got all of the
Decor's. Just as they were going to put it in the Decor Decor, Joker
swoped down stealing the box and last decor, preventing them from
reviving the Queen. Then he throws a card at infront of Candy and
suddenly the card multiplied into many, got on and covered Candy and
when the cards flew away, she was gone and suddenly in Joker's hand.
Joker capture her because she has the Miracle Jewells to grant wishes
and is a great support to the Precures. Then he leave doing the same
card trick on Candy to flee. He laughed as it echoed when he left and
Miyuki, Pop, and the Precures trying to call out Candy's name.
When The Pretty Cure visited Marchenland to go to Bad End
Kingdom, he went there to them. The Pretty Cure transformed, but were
defeated by him and have their Bad energy absorbed because he needs
Pretty Cure Bad Energy so Pierott could revive and left with the
Precures hopeless. In the next episode, the Precures got their Hopes and
went to Bad End Kingdom while the commanders were waiting for them.
While the other Precures were fighting the 3 commanders, Joker tried to
stop Happy but Beauty and Pop battled him instead. He was impressed by
Cure Beauty's strength and intelligence and nearly defeated her until
her willpower encouraged her to keep going and her power was stronger
and defeated Joker with a powerful Beauty Blizzard.
Later he somehow he survived, found Pierrot's heart/core/piece in space
and revived the commanders from death. He gave the commanders the Big Red Nose for them when they encounter the Pretty Cures and told them about a Miracle Jewel.
The Black Noses and Trapping the Pretty Cures
In the Bad End Kingdom, Joker tells Akaoni that Pierrot is getting
impatient due to his constant failure, which convinces the ogre to go
defeat the Pretty Cures later. In the next episode when the Pretty Cure
got all of the Decors and a Strange Clock appeared, Joker showed the
commanders black balls and 3 black cards. He told them the instructions
of these balls and use them to fight the Pretty Cures. While fighting
the Akanbe, he found Pop and Candy and trapped candy in a Neglect ball.
He told the Precures that Candy was trapped in a place where she
believes it is paradise, but the girls believe Candy will overcome and
fight the Hyper Akanbe but it was too strong. Candy then overcome and
got out of the ball and helped the Precures and they used the Royale
Clock to defeat the Hyper Akanbe. Everyone was glad Candy was okay.
Suddenly Joker reappeared and trapped Akane, Yayoi, Nao and Reika in a
crystal ball, taunting Miyuki,Candy and Pop telling that like Candy,
they are also in a paradise with no worries. Miyuki and Candy then
volunteered to save them and trapped in the ball. In the ball, Miyuki
was slacking and almost turned into a victim until Candy snapped her out
of it and Miyuki tried to wake up her friends and tried to destroy the
realm until Joker stopped her by blocking the attack and used the yellow
nosed Akanbe on her. It was too strong and Joker laughed at her
claiming that it is useless as work hard and experience failure and
sadness in the end. Cure Happy rebutted him that ever though they
encountered failure, as long her friends are around, they will work
harder than before to overcome everything. Just as Yellow nosed Akanbe
was about to fire a shot,Candy came over to Happy and their actions
reawoken the others and transformed and stood together with Cure Happy.
They combine their powers with Candy and was able to break the realm.
Joker transformed Yellow nosed Akanbe into Hyper Akanbe with Bad End
paint, but like the other one they encountered, they used the Royale
Clock and defeated the Akanbe and Joker retreated.
In episode 40, it shows Jokers anger, ruthless and impatient side
at the commanders not getting any bad energy for Pierrot. He changed
his appearance (see "Appearence" in this page.) that frightens them and
gives final chances to defeat the Precures and if they fail, Joker will do something terrible to them after they disappear/flee from battle.
Appearance
Joker appears as the most human compared to his partners, with the
exception of his long fingernails and sharp teeth; he wears a white half
masque, hiding his eyes which appear as black slots, a white and violet
bodysuit with a small violet cape. His hair is styled into the
appearance of a traditional jesters hat, and is multicolored blue, red,
yellow and violet. In episode 40 when he shows his impatient side, his
face became more monster-like. Only he has red eyes (possibly with no
mask) and his teeth became fangs.
Abilities
Joker can conjure items. In Episode 6, Joker conjured a "Little
Earth" as a visual aid during his explanation of the villains plan. He
can use his cards to make them big to defend or throw one card make many
to capture and teleport them or himself. In Episode 22, he is capable
of fighting all the PreCures using offense and without a effort (include
the purification attacks). Like Wolfurun, Akaoni, and Majorina,
he can use a piece of the Black Paint of Darkness, and can darken a
blank page of his Picture Book of Darkness (symbolizes the brand new
future). This changes the world into a Bad End alternate reality with a
purple and black sky. in Episode 23 he finally summoned an akanbe for the first time. Joker revived the dead commmanders. In Episode 32, it was revealed he created the Hyper Akanbe noses with the same black paint of the darkness.
Trivia
- Joker's hair is coloured red, blue and yellow, each with ending with a bauble simillar to the Akanbe noses. In Episode 32, it is revealed that the baubles in fact, are Akanbe noses.
- Joker is the second villain to use cards to attack, the first being Cobraja
- In Episode 16 , it seems he studied/Observe the Smile! Cures and made a stack of data (for Akaoni). He might be the second to take notes on Pretty Cures, the first was Scorp.

While in this form, Majorina can create illusionary doppelgangers to confuse the enemy. However, this transformation is temporary (as shown in Episode 28).

As a result of calling her a witch and turning her into a witch frog, she has to become a witch apprentice. The show had 4 sequels and in 2011, got a light novel based on it.
- Majo means "witch" meaning her name is actually Majo Rina a.k.a Witch Rina
- While "Majo" means "witch", "Rina" means "Beloved", "Pure", "Queen", or "Joyful".
